It’s still the Christmas/New Year holidays and my folks are visiting from Alaska. Mom is sewing two quilts… one for Austin, one for his soon to be brother (no name, yet). These are my niece’s children. I wrote up the pattern (I’ll be putting it in pdf on the website soon) and mom sewed the tops, to be quilted upon her return to Fairbanks.

I am also putting a sweatshirt jacket together. My first one ever. It is dupioni silk over the sweatshirt. I’ll be doing trapunto and some other visual textures with quilting. The picture is one of the back after I pinned it in preparation for the quilting. Right now I’m mulling over the embellishments I want to add. I intend on keeping it pretty “smooth” so I don’t catch it on anything and have plans for a pretty collar.
